July?!

Hello everyone!

Long time no speak, after my last post once we hit April life got a bit crazy with the wedding, honeymoon and just life in general - all my crafts got packed away and not touched!

So, I am now a married lady :) It was a wonderful day and went perfectly, and thankfully I didn't turn in to Bridezilla! Haha, so many people commented about how relaxed we both were. It was strange it didn't really feel like it was happening until I started walking down the aisle!

Thought I would share a few photos of the big day here since you have all been here with me since before I was even engaged!

I hope you are all well, any news to share?

Until next time

March TUSAL Check In

Hi everyone!

A day late with this post (again!) but again I did take the photos on the right day I just didn't get around to writing a post yesterday for Daffycat's TUSAL

So here is how my ort vase is looking at the moment...

More colours added again this month thanks to my Pumpkin Passport and my Fallout piece.

Speaking of which...

It's coming along nicely! In my last post about this I said there was only two more colours to go, I was wrong! When I looked at the chart there was in fact four colours to go. Urgh. But nevermind, the grey for the shoes was fast as was the dark blue for the shading. Even the brown in her hair wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be and I managed to get most of that done in one stitching session.

As for the blue...urgh...it's starting to feel never ending but I hope if I can just do a couple of lengths of thread here and there it will get done soon enough - fingers crossed!

Until next time!

Happy March!

Hello!

How on earth are we in March already?!

I hope you are all well? I must admit I am far, far behind on my blogs readings so I hope you are all doing ok and getting lots of lovely little stitches in!

Here is my current progress on my Vault Boy and Girl

The skin is done! Hooray! Only two colours to go. I want to say I will have this done by the end of March but we shall see.

My stitching time has taken a bit of a hit recently thanks to a game I have being playing on the computer with friends...I even uttered the words "this is my new World of Warcraft" and anyone who plays that knows how addictive it is! For those who wonder it is Ark: Survival Evolved I have been playing.

But, having said that I promised myself I would have the skin complete before the next installment of the Pumpkin Passport arrived, and that I have done as that will arrive in my mailbox tonight while I sleep :)

Until next time!

Gifted Gorgeousness - February 2015

Greetings!

Yes I know this is a day late for the Gifted Gorgeousness check in but I didn't arrive home from my weekend away till late yesterday afternoon so didn't have chance to sit down and write a post (although I did take the photo yesterday!)

This month again I am getting that good old shoehorn out and cramming my Vault Boy and Girl in to the theme - it's a gift for the future married us so it totally counts!

I've also had some more progress on it since I last showed you, I've now added the white to the mouths and started on the skin.

I'm really enjoying working on this, I'll continue to work on it and hopefully get the skin on both of them complete then it will be tackling a huge amount of brown or blue!

For those who asked the weekend was very productive - the bridesmaid now has her dress and my Dad also has his outfit sorted and we have a wedding car (aka my Dad's car) sorted! I will just need to buy some bows and ribbons to dress it :)

Until next time!

February TUSAL and lots of Yellow!

Hello!

Better late than never here is my TUSAL update the for month, as you can see a few more colours added this months thanks to my Small Sal piece and the Pumpkin Passport.

Stitching wise I have worked on Vault Boy and Girl a little, and all the yellow is now complete!

What colour to do next - we shall have to wait and see!

This weekend no stitching will get done on this as I am away down to Yorkshire to sort some more wedding things out with the Bridesmaid and my Dad. I think David is please he gets away without doing anything for Valentines since he is staying home!

I have a long train journey on Friday and Monday though so I am thinking of taking a small with me and to make the most of that time, perhaps I will get my piece for the Small SAL complete early this month too?!

Until next time!

Fallout Vault Boy & Girl - A Dash of Yellow

Happy Weekend All!

First, I want to say Hello to my new followers! Thank you for joining me on my stitching journey! Secondly, I hope all my American readers are stocked up and safe from the crazy snow storm which is been reported on the news - I hope you all get the opportunity to make the most of it and have a hermit/stitching weekend :)

This week seemed a bit of an odd one, every time I planned to sit down with my stitching something came up which needed doing instead, never mind, these things happen I guess. But, some yellow was added, his hair is complete and the inside of his jacket is well on it's way!

This weekend I will be returning to my Pumpkin Passport - fingers crossed my stitching on that will be productive!

Until next time!

Fallout Vault Boy & Girl - Outline Done! / Gifted Gorgeousness

Good evening everyone!

I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend. Just a quick post from me today - as the title of the post states I got the outline done on my Vault Boy and Girl - YAY!

As this has been the only piece I have worked on so far this year, luckily I can shoehorn this in to the Gifted Gorgeousness SAL hosted by the lovely Serendipitous Stitching as this eventually will be a gift for me and my future Husband for our wedding day...that totally counts...right?!

So this means next week the "colouring in" will begin :) It will be fun to get those bright yellow and blues done!

This weekend I will working on part one of the Frosted Pumpkin SAL which arrives due to the time difference at 1am Saturday morning for me. I'm looking forward to see what it has in store!

Until next time!

Fallout Wedding Sampler - We have a Vault Girl!

Good evening everyone!

I hope you all made in through the first week back to reality as pain free as possible. We have snow here currently so it's looking like it might be a quiet weekend in for us, and that is perfectly fine by me! My blog feed is currently going crazy with all your updates, seems a lot of people are doing the 15 starts in 15 days this year, they are always fun to see. I hope to get caught up on my reading this weekend!

So I have more progress to share with you - the outline of Vault Girl in done!

Now she just needs her Vault boy and colouring in of course but I've decided to stitch the outlines of them both first then work on the colours.

I'm still loving working on this at the moment so I am going to continue on it until the 15th as that is when part one of the Frosted Pumpkin SAL arrives! I am also excited to start that too - so my plan is to stitch that up and then return to this. Fingers crossed it will work out like that...

Hope you all have a great weekend.

The First Stitches of 2016!

Hi everyone!

I guess most people are back to reality today, looking at all the depressing posts on Facebook this morning it certainly seems so anyway! Thankfully, today is a bank holiday in Scotland so one more day before the routine returns.

I had a good stitching session over the weekend - I sat, watched the BBC Pride and Prejudice and stitched away on my New Year, New Start project.

This is my Fallout Wedding Sampler for me and David, I have to say I am loving it so far! My first time using 28 count fabric and stitching over two and I must admit I am finding it very enjoyable and easier than I thought it would.

I'm enjoying this so much I'll be continuing with it for now.

Until next time!

Long Overdue Catch Up!

Goodness!

I can't quite believe it has been 5 months since I last posted here! I hope you are all doing ok, I must admit these past five months have flown by and I have fallen off the blogosphere totally. I have't read any blogs in a long time but the past couple of days I have started to read some again with an odd comment here and there :)

It's nice to see so many of the regular bloggers still there stitching and blogging away - I hope soon to be one of those again! But I also see some of my favourite blogs no longer exist or they have decided to go to other mediums of social media :(

So, does anyone have any recommendations for newer blogs that I perhaps might not have seen or follow? Please let me know!

Crafting

I have to say the crafting bug has gone completely AWOL for the longest time, which also explains the lack of blogging. If i'm not crafting I don't have a whole much to talk about on here!

But I am happy to say last weekend I did start a new (simple) project - I wanted to ease myself back in to it with nothing too taxing. Here is a little sneak peek :)

As you can probably tell by the colours this is a Christmas project :D

Weight Loss

I'm pleased to say Slimming World is something I am still keeping up with rather well. To date I have lost a total of 2 stone 9lbs! (37lbs or 16.7kg) I am hoping by the end of this month to hit the three stone mark :) But for now my award collection is looking pretty good :)

Wedding Planning

Wedding plans are all starting to come together now, it is fast approaching. It seems so weird to think all that time ago we booked our venue and now it is less than 8 months away!

I go for my dress measurements taken this coming week! I am so excited, the whole dress shopping experience was wonderful, my Mother came up to Scotland for a couple of days to visit. 3 shops visi
ted but it was dress number 2 in shop number 2 which was the winner. I can't wait to try it on again :) :)

Other than that not a whole much to report, work is the usual (busy) and its been almost a year now since living in Scotland which has just flown by!

Any new designers or SALs I may have missed? Please let me know!

Hopefully I will be back in the coming week with an update on my craft project.

Until then...

Wedding Weekend and a Finish!

Good evening everyone!

I hope you are all well, I seem to be coming down with a cold booo! I just hope I can shift it quick.

All the family had a great time at my brothers wedding, it was a perfect day from start to finish and couldn't have gone better, some pictures below...

Family Meal out at Ceaser's @ The Minster in York

The Venue - The Hospitium in York

Where the service took place

The Happy Couple!
My New Sister In Law :)
Me and David - scrub up well don't we?!

Cutting the cake!

The Wedding Cake, which my brother made

We returned home on Saturday afternoon after spending the night at The Churchill in York, as it turned out we had the majority of the hotel rooms booked out with all the family members stopping over, so breakfast the next morning was fun too!

Once we got back I was far too hungover tired to stitch so went back to bed in the afternoon for a couple of hours and relaxed. Finally on Sunday some stitching got done and I am please to say I got a finish! But sadly, I cannot share it yet - I have decided to keep it until the Halloween bloghop takes place - hopefully by then it will be a finished finish, I ordered some perfect backing fabric for it last night.

The second part of the Lizzie*Kate mystery Christmas Sampler arrived while I was away in York so I will be making a start on that this week too, if this cold sticks around I won't be doing anything this weekend either so at least on the bright side I should get plenty of stitching done.

Have a great week everyone!

#24 I did it again...

I must confess. I had a moments weakness. I indulged in more HAED charts...(you can find them and many, many more HERE)

Mini Christmas Mailbox
Mini Berry Branches

Mini The Black
Well, what can I say?! They have a sale on! How can a girl refuse...Mini The Black is already calling me but I must resist...I will..maybe...

In other news, I think I have decided on which chart to stitch for my Brothers wedding, the more I looked at it the more I liked it and decided it was the most them. So, its going to be choice #3 The Bike Couple! I'm not sure if the chart has a name, but it was in 365 Cross Stitch Designs which I bought last year. I do know the chart is by Joan Elliott though.

I must say, thank you very much for taking the time to read and vote, it is much appreciated :)

#23 I need your opinion!

So, after the exciting news of my Brothers engagement as soon as I woke today I went looking round my stash for wedding patterns and here is what I came up with....

#1 Cake!
#2 Love Birds

#3 Bike Couple
#4 Look Familiar?

So now I have a problem - I have no idea which to do! I think of the four #2 and #3 are the favourites so far - I've already done #4 this year for my friends wedding, I think it might be too soon to stitch again and #1 just doesn't seem very them, if you know what I mean.

At first glance I favoured #2 but the other half liked #3 so I asked my Mother (who is already planning what hat she is going to wear!) and she said she liked both - how helpful!

So, I need your votes guys! You can click each image to enlarge should you need to do so :) Help!!!

#22 Something Simple

Once again thank you for all your kind comments!

If you are a follower of my blog but I am not a follower of yours please leave a comment - I love to read what everyone else is doing, gives me inspiration!

Today I was feeling sort of lazy and so I decided to stitch up a couple of squares for the charity group I am a member of on Facebook. They are pretty quick and simple to do so managed to get two done. I will send them off once I get the threads for two other squares I have committed to which are Disney ones - I love Disney :D

About an hour ago I had a phone call from my Brother, I worried a little as he never calls so late, but turned out it was good news - he and his girlfriend got engaged! :D I am so happy for them, it was a complete suprise to me as they have been together so long I had come to the conclusion they were happy just as they were and had no plans to marry.

So that means a wedding next year - I will have to start thinking of a gift and my goodness the diet starts now!

I hope everyone who isn't at work tomorrow due to the bank holiday has a great day of stitching ahead!

#9 Sea Babies

I know, I know...I went AWOL for a few weeks - sorry!

I wish I could say it was because I was so wrapped up in cross stitching I didn't want to stop, but alas, no.

Instead I have been spending a small fortune on boring things. Firstly, our dryer broke, which under normal circumstances wouldn't be an issue mid summer but with the weather we have been having I have missed having one dearly.

THEN my dishwasher leaked and flooded the kitchen. Despite our best efforts in the end the carpet had to be ripped up. So a few hundred pounds later I have a new dryer and dishwasher and a bare floor in the kitchen area :( When we will get round to decorating I have no idea, so it has been somewhat of a nightmare here the last week or so.

On to stitching!

My progress has been rather slow on the whale, no idea why, I guess I just lost my bug for a little while. But today I'm glad to say all the cross stitch is finished! Hooray!

Next up will be the fourth and final square I am doing for this quilt and will be a little crab - hopefully this one will progress quicker than the last.

Also, I finally gave the wedding sampler to the happy couple, we went for a night of cocktails. It was lovely to see them again talking about our school days and talking about house plans for them and planning a trip to Florida in 2021 - apparently the 50th anniversary of the park opening or something so it has to be done - I think even for me nine years is enough time to plan and save!

I have next week off work. YAY! Sadly, I suspect not so much stitching will get done. I am decorating one of our spare bedrooms and turning it in to a computer/craft room. Or as me and the other half call it our Geek Room.

If I'm not wrong then is should be IHSW this weekend so fingers crossed the next update will be soon!

Happy Stitching! xo

#4 May IHSW

Well I have to say my first International Hermit Stitch Weekend was a success!

*Drumroll*

Tada!

Managed to get almost all of the brides dress complete - hopefully should have by the end of tonight. Then all it needs is backstitching and the happy couples names and wedding date added then it's complete! Which is a good thing as technically its one/two months late already...woops...

Happy Stitching!
