YOTA - February 2014

Good Afternoon my lovelies!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, are any of you going to be watching the super bowl? Even though we live in England it is still shown on TV here and we are going to stay up late tomorrow and watch it! We have taken Monday off work too, as it's always a late one!

So here we are, February 1st which just so happens to be the first Saturday of the month meaning its YOTA time! If you have never heard of YOTA before then just follow the link and all will be explained, perhaps you might even want to join in with us too - there are over 20 of us at the moment!

So this is what my YOTA piece looked like the last time you saw it at the beginning of the year...

And here is where it is now!

As you can see I have taken the time to fill in all the gaps of the two columns to the right and filled in a little at the top too, and I can tell you now it was a pleasure to stitch something other than 310 after Mini the Black. Still not much to see but this section is mainly background, once this part is complete I will move along to the right as then we will start to find a face :D

How did you all do on your YOTA this month?

Until next time!

#48 - IHSW part 2

Yes, thats right, part TWO!!

For once I can say I am please with my stitching this month, I feel I have made good progress. The other half may not be quite so happy as it did mean not much housework got done - oops! There is always tomorrow, right?

So, today I worked on Twilight Magic, it has been a while since I last posted about here so here is what she looked like last time...

And here she is now!

Yes, yet more background. I will probably fall asleep tonight and have nightmares about light peach and pink. BUT! the bottom right corner you can see where I haven't stitched, that is the start of her hair, yippee! However I still have a long way to go before I move to the next page. Even so I am happy.

I hope you all had a great weekend, and a good week ahead too.

#32 light colours are a pain to photo!

Good Evening!

Today has been nothing but rain and a little bit more rain on top of that! So I did some stitching, I guess there is always a silver lining.

First, I did a bit more work on Twilight Magic, this first page is driving me a little crazy now as it is nothing but background colour, so even when I get it done all it will be is a huge block of colour! I'm tempted to move on to the next page as then I will get to work on the girls hair, but no, for now at least I will keep on stitching away on the background. I guess it needs doing sooner or later.

So this is what it looked like the last time I showed you...

Not much for two weeks is it? Although you can't see in the photo that well the large block on the right hand side is a mixture of a few colours. Maybe next time I will try to photo in daylight and perhaps it will show up better.

Today, I worked on something I hadn't touched for ages, but with the reminder it is now less than 100 days to Christmas (eek!)  I thought I better crack on with it and get some more done.

The last time I left it looking like this;

And now it looks like this;

I'm not sure if you can even see it in the photo but I added the bears hand, his front legs and his skis.

Can't believe the weekend is nearly over once again and with the arrival of the the new World of Warcraft expansion this week I fear my stitching may suffer even more than it already has these past few weeks.

I hope everyone else's is more successful than mine!

#26 Bad, bad Emma...

Well, another week and even more new starts >.>

What is wrong with me?!

But to be fair this week did seem more productive than last week.

Firstly, I made a start on Twilight Magic from Heaven and Earth. Got around 1000 stitches done, which isn't much but I did at least get both top corners of the first page done.

You might wonder why I skipped three squares, well, by the time I reached that area it was pretty late at night, and as there are a lot of colour changes I decided it would be better to wait until I had some natural daylight before I tackled it. So this will be my aim for this afternoon.

Along with this I also did some knitting this week! I bought this yarn a while ago in a sale because I love the colours and I have to say I am liking the way it is turning out so far, its so easy to work with and knits up pretty fast too, even for me who can barely knit anyway!

You might just spy a certain little fluffy bum in the top left corner peeking in, he has been ever so keen to "help" while I have been knitting this week. But, today he is far too sleepy so has decided to recline on the bed instead. What a life.

Think next week I am going to stick with these two projects as I am enjoying them both at the minute.

Have a great week everyone!
