First Knitting Finish of the Year!

Good evening!

2014 is turning in to a very productive year already! Tonight I finished my first knitting project of the year, you may remember my sweet Nana bought me a gift for my birthday. Well I finally got round to knitting with it and once I got started it flew along!

Here is the finished article!

Here a small close up...

It was very simple to knit with, but has a very pretty finished effect!

Knitting Finish and Goodies in the Mail :)

Good Evening!

A mid week (ish) post - I am really spoiling you :D hehe

So after I completed part two of Holly and Hearts I wondered what to do next, then on Sunday as I was having a big clear out I came across some scarf yarn I bought a while ago that I forgot I had!

So Sunday night I made a start and managed to get it finished and washed last night. I figured it would look great with my new winter coat which is red, so I thought a black scarf with a little bit of sparkle will look lovely.

You can't see the sparkle so well in the picture sadly...at least I will be warm when waiting at the bus stop in the morning - last two mornings we have had frost!

After work yesterday when I got home I had a package waiting for me and I couldn't figure out what it could be?? It was from the lovely Steph at Show and Tell! I was the lucky one chosen for a travelling pattern but she kindly included lots of goodies for me too :) Thanks Steph! :D

Look at this! How cute! Now I just have to find somewhere for it to live out of furry paws reach :)

I made a small start on the travelling pattern also, I chose the "Then" version, shouldn't take too long so keep an eye out as it will be looking for a new home soon! :)

Excuse the shadow!
Valma, I have not forgotten you, the travelling pattern will be on its way as soon as I make it up to the post office on my lunch break at work, fingers crossed the next day or so!

Until next time!

Ooooh Cookie...

Good afternoon everyone!

I hope you have all had a pleasant weekend, mine has been pretty quiet again, but got some time for stitching :)

You may remember last time I was here on this new project...

Before
Here it is now! He has a cookie! I am really enjoying this and other half seems impressed with it too, he was even asking earlier today where it will go in our geek room :D hehe

As of 01/09/13
Earlier in the week me and two friends went to our first knitting and crochet club, we have all been wanting to learn, so off we went with our ball of wool and needles. A lovely lady sat with the three of us and very patiently showed us how to cast on, knit stitch and cast off...she had the patience of a saint!

The host, a lovely lady called Cathy has the most gorgeous home and provided drinks and home made cake, there was about 10 of us all together of all ages and experience. It was a lovely evening and I am already looking for to the next meeting at the end of the month.

After two hours (it really flew by) this is what I produced!

Ok, so it doesn't look much but its a start! So now I have cast on 45 stitches and I figure if I sit and do a couple of rows a day then by the end of the month I should of had plenty of practice and maybe next time we will be taught to purl, after that, who knows!

I'm not sure if I will update again this week and I am heading off on holiday on Friday (did I even mention that before now?). A few weeks ago my Mum asked me if I would go away with her as she wanted a holiday but didn't want to go alone, like she even needed to asked! So we are heading to Turkey for a week, it will be a relaxing holiday, not sure if to take any stitching with me or maybe just lots of books, I haven't read a book for ages and I do miss it.

If I don't I will update on my return, have a great couple of weeks!

#69 Pink Scarf Project

As I mentioned in a previous post I have decided to join in the Pink Scarf Project, this is a year long event which ends this October and the idea is you create or buy a Pink Scarf.

As Vicki from 2 Bag Full has put it;

Simply stated - it has only one goal~
To bring a smile to the face of a woman who is fighting her own battle with breast cancer.

With this in mind I ordered some yarn last weekend which arrived on Friday, so yesterday I stitched them up and I am glad to say they are now finished!

They both stitched up so fast even for me who is a very VERY basic knitter, these would be a doddle for any of you pro knitters out there.

So much so I may knit a few more up over the year and send some more off! :)

#36 Another finish!

Woohoo! Two finishes in a week! I can't really complain about that! But don't be getting used to it as I'm sure it won't happen again for a while :D hehe.

This is another of the Daffy yarn, you may remember the one I did in shades of green, well this was the other colour I bought. I love it, I think it will look rather festive come December.

So, now I've finished three that is surely a good enough excuse reason to buy some more? Right? :D

A new wool shop has opened in the next village, oh my, am I ever going to be able to save money??

Don't forget about my Giveaway people - just click the link below! :)

Hope you all had/are having a great weekend.

Until next week.

#29 IHKW more like...

Another weekend has gone by in a blur but I must admit I am happy as I have not one, but two finishes this weekend!

Ok I admit, I did no stitching but focused on my knitting instead. With the colder/darker mornings drawing in already I have gone a little scarf crazy and finished two this weekend!
Butterfly
Daffy

As someone who isn't exactly a good knitter (I didn't even know how to cast off until yesterday) I am quite proud of these. They knitted up so fast and I like the finished effect.

Close Up
New Downton Abbey starts this evening so I may just make a start on the red yarn I have in my stash - sounds like a plan!

Look forward to seeing everyone elses IHSW, which hopefully will be more stitch and not knit, and maybe get my bug back!

#26 Bad, bad Emma...

Well, another week and even more new starts >.>

What is wrong with me?!

But to be fair this week did seem more productive than last week.

Firstly, I made a start on Twilight Magic from Heaven and Earth. Got around 1000 stitches done, which isn't much but I did at least get both top corners of the first page done.

You might wonder why I skipped three squares, well, by the time I reached that area it was pretty late at night, and as there are a lot of colour changes I decided it would be better to wait until I had some natural daylight before I tackled it. So this will be my aim for this afternoon.

Along with this I also did some knitting this week! I bought this yarn a while ago in a sale because I love the colours and I have to say I am liking the way it is turning out so far, its so easy to work with and knits up pretty fast too, even for me who can barely knit anyway!

You might just spy a certain little fluffy bum in the top left corner peeking in, he has been ever so keen to "help" while I have been knitting this week. But, today he is far too sleepy so has decided to recline on the bed instead. What a life.

Think next week I am going to stick with these two projects as I am enjoying them both at the minute.

Have a great week everyone!
