Stitch from Stash - May 2015

Greetings!

Month: May 2015
Spent: £0.00
Earned: £0

Yep, this month I spent a big fat nothing! So no new stash to report about this month I am afraid!

No stitching has happened this month...again. I really have lost my bug completely :( I keep looking at all the things I have but even a new start isn't tempting me as yet.

In other news I have returned to Slimming World and in three weeks I have lost 13lbs which I am very pleased with :) Perhaps next weigh in I will hit that stone mark and I will be very happy! This is all for operation wedding dress now haha, so good motivation.

Plans for the wedding are starting to come together, we have our honeymoon booked, photographer , venue and invites ordered. So its getting there.

I hope you are all doing ok? Are any of you on instagram? I joined recently so let me know your user name so I can add you :)

Until next time.

Stitch From Stash March 2015

Hello

Month: March 2015
Spent: £8.00
Earned: £0

I hope you are all ok, I have to admit I have lost my mojo a bit. I just haven't had the drive to be creative since losing my Nana and the past week at work has been insanely busy. I don't know for sure but perhaps this next long weekend will be the time to pick up the needle again.

Having said that I still managed to spend £8.00 this month.

I had been struggling for a while to find somewhere in the UK which was selling the Year In Chalk by Hands on Design. But as luck would have it one of my favourite shops has started to sell it now! Patchwork Rabbit is doing an auto ship program so I should get one each month of these sweet designs :)

I have no idea when I will get round to stitching them but I think they are very sweet.

Other than that not much to report.

Perhaps I will be back with some little x's to show you next weekend.

Hope you are all doing better than me!

Stitch From Stash - January 2015

As we are heading to the end of the month already here is my first check in with the Stitch From Stash hosted by Epic Stitching

Month: January 2015
Spent: £8.00
Earned: £0.00

Not a bad start!

Purchases:

Just one purchase this month, but that's ok. This is something I have bought for the past few years so I knew I would be spending this money again in January.

Lots of projects to keep me busy...eventually!

WIPs: Just a little on my YOTA piece Twilight Magic.

New Starts:

Tribal Orca by White Willow Stitching

I've also had a little progress on a Christmas ornament, fingers crossed I will get more of this done this weekend.

So that's it! One month down eleven to go! My tracker at the side of my blog has been updated accordingly and £12 sat in the kitty...although that HAED 50% sale is killing me!

2015 Plans

Woohoo! I did it! I FINALLY read through all 800+ posts I had on my Bloglovin' feed! Gosh, that took some time let me tell you but so many of you have been working on such beautiful projects :)

Lets hope this time I can keep up with them all!

So, yesterday I sat down and decided to make my plans for the coming year, with a number of different SALS I am taking part in I felt I needed to get it all wrote out to make sure nothing was forgotten.

So, my main ten projects for the year which are my Turtle Trot pieces are...

1) High Tea by Heaven and Earth Designs. New Start!

This was on my 2014 but never got touched! This piece will also count as part of a Facebook SAL I am taking part in to have a new start in the new year and to get at least 250 stitches in by the end of January. Sounds easy enough but lets just wait and see if that happens haha.

2) Lily by Heaven and Earth Designs.

Here is my current progress.

I would really like to get a nice amount of this done in 2015, but I don't think it will get finished.

3) Mini the Black by Heaven and Earth Designs

Here is my current progress.

Ideally I would like at least another page finish in 2015. This is also my piece for another SAL on Facebook.

4) Row of Cats by Bothy Threads

Here is my current progress.

This is a project I would like to complete in 2015 I'm thinking if I stitch one cat a month then it should by quite doable.

5) I Found My Family In A Book by Bothy Threads.

Here is my current progress.

I'm not sure if this one will get finished, but I would at least like 50% done in 2015.

6) Tribal Orca by White Willow Stitching. New Start!

7) Tribal Panda by White Willow Stitching. New Start!

I feel with these two I should be able to get them both complete in 2015, or at the very least one of them done and the majority on the second. They have been in my stash a while so it will be nice to get them done.

8) Sew Dinky Gingerbread House by Bothy Threads

Here is my current progress.

9) Marks and Spencer Sampler. New Start!

This was a kit I bought ages ago on Ebay, it was a bargin!

10) Twilight Magic (WOXS edition) by Heaven and Earth Designs

Here is my current progress.

Ah Twilight Magic, I'm starting to feel like this one is mocking me so I REALLY want to get a nice amount done on this in 2015. I know, I know I have said that for the past two years...we shall see.

The ones with there titles in bold green (so projects 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7) will also all count toward the Gifted Gorgeousness SAL I am taking part in as they all were gifted to me at some point (or part of them was!)

Finally good old Twilight Magic will by YOTA piece again in 2015. Lets just hope it is a bit more successful this time!

As all these are things that are in my stash now this get me off to a great start for the Stitch from Stash 2015 I am taking part in. With wedding planning happening next year I would really like to be more careful with my money so this SAL will keep me on track. I have decided to set my monthly budget to £20, although the current exchange of $25 is around £16 I feel the extra £4 is fair due to how much more expensive threads are here in the UK compared to USA. I have set up my tracker in my sidebar to the right to keep updated with my spending (or lack of!)

If you want to find out more about any of the SALs I am taking part in or maybe you even want to sign up too just click the links and it will take you directly to the information pages.

I will be back tomorrow with another update about the Small SAL I plan to take part in next year too!

Stitch From Stash - March Round Up

So here we are, heading towards of another month and another month of doing my best not to spend too much money on our wonderful craft!

So, the question is, did I do it? Yes!

Woohoo!

Thankfully this month I only spent £10, and this was spent paying off part of a layaway I have for a thread pack for this beauty...

So that's it on the spending front! I still have loads to pay off on the layaway but I will do that bit by bit each month I can :)

In stitching news I have continued to work on wips, the main one been Mini the Black, I now have the first page complete, hooray!

However, no finishes to speak of this month, but a page finish on a HAED kind of feels like a finish to me :)

So, adding the rest of this months budget to my year to date total leaves me with £48.50! It's building up nicely :)

Stitch From Stash 2014 - February

As we are coming towards the end of the month it is time for my monthly Stitch from Stash post, hosted by Mel at Epic Stitching!

So, did I manage to stick to the $25 budget? YES!

I spent nil, nada, zilch, nothing! Was it easy? No. There have been so many things that have caught my eye this month, and then when we got the email about the splurge weekend...well...I immediately went to drool at so many pretty things, but I restrained. I'm still not sure how I managed that but I did!

I did get some stash though, thanks to my dear other half for Valentines day I got three new Heaven and Earth charts (hooray for sales)

As for stitching I have been working away on some WIPs and completed a few smalls, one for the Small SAL, another for an exchange and also a couple of finishes on my Crazy January Challenge starts, oh, and a scarf too!

So, it's math time...

  • February Budget = $25.00
  • Spent in February = £0.00
  • Remainder for the Month = $25.00
  • Yearly Total Saved = $33.50
I shall update my sidebar tracker accordingly.

Not too bad I would say! Although I don't think I will do as well next month, some of those patterns I have been drooling over are shouting pretty loud!

Stitch From Stash 2014 - January

Hello!

Well, as today is pay day it seems to make sense that I should now do a round up of my spending and stitching over the last month, all on aid of Stitch From Stitch hosted by Mel at Epic Stitching!

So, down to the important stuff did I stick to the $25 budget this month? YES!

This month I spent a total of £10 which, according to Googles trusty conversion table, equals around $16.50 give or take a few cents, yay!

So, what did I spend it on? Well, first was a small purchase of a needle minder from Lisa's No More Lost Needles, which you can find on Facebook. You can see it in use in the picture below :) I actually bought 3 but the other two will be for my giveaway coming soon!

Next was a Tilton Craft chart. I had agreed to take part in an appreciation event, so I remained restrained and only purchased one chart, which considering there is a sale on I think is pretty damn good of me!

As I am visting Rome later this year how could I not buy this one!?

As for stitching well, if you are a regular follower you will know that the first 15 days I had a new start everyday, all of which were from my pile of free kits which come with magazines, and I managed to finish three of them too!

The lovely Jo from Serendipitous Stitching was also so sweet to send me a second bunting kit she had in her stash, thanks Jo! It had the buzz of new stash just without the guilt lol!

So lets do the math...
  • January budget = $25.00
  • Total spent       = $16.50
  • Remainder       =  $8.50
A pretty good month I would say! I'll squirrel that $8.50 away for another month, and I'm going to add a running total of yearly total spent and saved to my tracker on my sidebar to the right.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all managed to stick to it too!
