Small Sal - March 2016!

Greetings everyone!

Welcome to my Small SAL check in for the month hosted by the lovely Stitching Lotus!

In my last post I gave you a little sneaky peek at what I had stitched for this month - could you guess what it was? :)

It was Little Luck by Lizzie*Kate! Such a sweet design and stitched up surprisingly quick!

Little Luck by Lizzie*Kate
Stitched 2 over 2 on 32ct Linen
Start Date: 15th March 2016
End Date: 20th March 2016

I stitched this using the suggested DMC and it was my first time completing a project on linen, I am not a fan of linen but it came with the chart and I thought I would give it a go! It wasn't so bad, at least now I know I can at least stitch small things on linen if I need to, otherwise I will still be sticking with my old faithful Aida and Evenweave!

I'm quite pleased with myself so far this year, my finishes are already more than I had last year haha!

Thanks for stopping by, I'm sure to be back soon with my lovely birth sampler I am stitching.

Until next time!

Holly And Hearts Finally Framed!

Greetings!

I hope you are all (almost) ready for the big day if you celebrate!

I finally got round to buying a frame for my Holly and Hearts sampler yesterday and this morning I hung it up so I thought I would share a photo with you :)

Just a simple cheap frame from Wilko but it does the job and has made my hallway look much more festive :)

I'm back...With a Finish Too!

Hello!

Greetings from Scotland!

You will all be pleased to know the move went very smoothly and we arrived here safe and sound over a week ago.

As we are staying with the inlaws for a few weeks we only have one computer set up, so we are sharing. So when I do get on to the computer I am usually using that time to apply for jobs etc.

No luck on that front yet but I will just keep on applying and fingers crossed something will come up eventually.

However, the good news is thanks to the lack of computer and gaming I have got another finish to share! Yippee!

This is the Lizzie*Kate Holly and Hearts Mystery SAL from last year. You may remember I got the first two parts done on time or there abouts but by the time part three arrived...well...it went away and Christmas came and went before it was finished.

But, at least it is now ready for this year! :D

All I need to do now is to try and find a frame, its a strange shape so I'm not sure how easy that is going to be.

I will be back soon with another post, I went on a little trip yesterday with the MIL and returned with some stash, meaning I had a new start today... :D

Until next time...

Christmas Crosses!

Hello!

I'm glad so many of you enjoyed my Christmas Advent day on Thursday, and even more happier to hear that the joy of Yorkshire Puddings spreads overseas too ;D hehe.

Also welcome to my new followers, I hope you enjoy your visits here to see my stitchy work!

Well, despite been busy busy with all things Christmas I managed to get a little bit of stitching done today. I continued work of part three of the Lizzie Kate Christmas sal.

Excuse the Shadow!
Not all that much done, but I'm glad to be back working on this again. I would love to have this done by the New Year but not sure how realistic that is going to be.

Other than that I have been doing some updating on my blog, there are three new tabs at the top which are SALs I am taking part in next year. Not quite finished with it yet, once everything is finalised I will make another post with all the details, you never know you might want to join in some of them too!

This coming week I have Secret Santa at work on Wednesday, Exchanging gifts with my Mum on Thursday, the main food shop is due for delivery on Saturday then Mini Christmas with my friends on Sunday! Phew, I am tried out just thinking about it!

I did manage to find a frame for my friends present, however I missed the delivery of it as I was at work, I thought it would have fit through the post box to be honest, but apparently not! It is due for another delivery next Saturday so I am cutting it a bit fine, so fingers crossed it looks good!

We Have a Winner!

Good Afternoon everyone!

I hope you are all well, I will keep this sort and sweet today and just announce the winner of Mii's Travelling pattern.

All the names were assigned a number and placed in the trusty hands of random.org!

The winner is...

♥♥ Shebafudge! ♥♥

Congratulations! If you could email me your address (itzycraftcorner@hotmail.co.uk) and I will pop it in to the post some time next week.

I may not be able to walk the first couple of days as tomorrow is the Abbey Dash 10k!

This has really sneaked up on me and I am definitely not ready for it! So my only aim is to finish, this year time doesn't matter, and whatever I do it in this year I will just aim to beat that next year.

I'll be back soon!

Mii's Travelling Pattern - Finished!

Hello hello!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, mine is cold, but good :)

So today I finished the travelling pattern which arrived to me from Steph, I decided on the "then" pattern of the two choices.

Ribbon Detail
Crazy Backing Fabric!

This of course now means the pattern is looking for a new home, if you wish to be the next one then you must (stolen from Mii's blog!):

1/ Be a serious stitcher and actually stitch one of the pattern and then pass it on,
2/ Be prepared to post the pattern anywhere in the world,
3/ Stitch the pattern in timely fashion (2 weeks maximum),
4/ Have an active blog to show us your work & organize a draw for the next stitcher
5/ and finally each stitcher to email me so that I can keep track of the chart

So if that sounds like you then please leave a "me please!" on this post. I will pick the next stitcher in a weeks time (the 16th). So good luck everyone!

This week we also managed to finally get round to getting a frame for Darth and hung in our Geek Room. Hurrah :)

Until next time, happy stitching!

Holly and Hearts Part Two - Finished!

Good evening everyone!

I hope you are all ok and enjoying your weekend. My number of followers has jumped up recently thanks to the blog hop earlier in the week, so hello and welcome to you! I hope you enjoy your stay! Hehe.

Getting ever closer to the 200 mark, no doubt I will have a giveaway once I get there.

So, this evening I finished the second part on the Lizzie*Kate mystery sal. Hooray! I really enjoy working on this piece and I cannot wait until part three arrives and I can complete it. Fingers crossed it will be in time for December so I can get it framed and it can sit pride of place!

Part two - done!
Until then it goes away again, I'm not sure what I will work on in the mean time...I'll let you know as soon as I do!

Until next time...

Back to the Long, Dark Nights...

...which can only mean one thing, staying in and stitching away! Hehe!

I hope you all had a good weekend? Mine wasn't the most productive every but hey ho sometimes you need a lazy day :)

Last night the clocks went back - we are officially on our way to Winter! Which also means Christmas and my Birthday - Yippee! :D

Today I worked some more on the Lizzie*Kate mystery sal Holly and Hearts, not too much done but a start none the less on part two, I need to crack on with it now as part three will be here in no time and I really want to get this done for Christmas.

I will be changing the spelling of honor to honour (which to me is the correct spelling) if you are wanting to change it too they have kindly added an alteration to the Lizzie*Kate site which you can find here.

Other than that this week has been made up of more stash building.

First my new needle minder arrived from Lisa's No More Lost Needles.

Excuse the edit - just hiding personal info!
It holds the needle really well and I have already placed a request in for another minder for next month, I suggest you take a look as she has loads of different designs, and very reasonably priced too!

Next, my parcel from Colour Cascade Fabrics arrived all the way from Oz. This was part of a Facebook event and my partner very kindly sent me a voucher, which I happily spent and then some!

The fabrics are Indian Sunset and Wicked Garden, they are gorgeous! If you are reading this my secret birthday Santa thanks very much! :D

Lastly, this was from last months event for Across Town Stitching, which sadly is closing down soon, its a shame as she used to do great deals on thread. Again I was sent a voucher from my partner and I picked these two kits.

I think that is everything for stitching updates...but I have more exciting news! Yesterday me and the other half booked our flights to Rome for next year! :D I am SO excited already! So, does anyone have any recommendations of crafty shops or magazines I should pick up while I am there?

I will be back on Thursday for the Halloween Blog Hop taking place over at Serendipitous Stitching - I have a spoooooky finish to share!

Until then stay safe!

Holly & Hearts Part One - Finished!

Good evening everyone

I hope you are all ok, I would just like to say first thank you for all your supportive messages on my last post. It has been a busy week so I haven't had the opportunity to thank each comment personally but they are appreciated.

We made the journey to Scotland Thursday night and the funeral was on Friday, there were lots of tears at the service but afterwards the family stayed together and shared stories from their childhood about her and her siblings, lots of laughs which is what she would have wanted. We made the journey back yesterday and arrived home in the evening, both very tired.

Today was the first chance I had to stitch but luckily I managed to finish part one of the SAL. Hooray!

Part one - Done!
So now it will go away until part two arrives, which means I can work on something else in the mean time, at the moment I'm not sure what that will be, but I'm sure I will be back soon with another update for you!

Tiki and Linda I will get your prizes in the mail this week, Pull the other Thread I don't have your address yet, so if you get it emailed to me then I will pop yours in the post as well.

Hope you all have a great week ahead

IHSW Roundup and Knitting Book Winners!

Good evening everyone!

I hope you all had a pleasant weekend and everyone taking part in IHSW had a productive weekend.

I was very organised this time I even remembered to take photos before the weekend started, I worked on the new Lizzie*Kate Mystery Sampler Holly and Hearts.

I literally did nothing this weekend other than stitch and have a Breaking Bad marathon (Just finished season four - oh my god!)

So lets get straight to it with the pictures...

Thursday Night before IHSW

Friday Night Progress

Saturday Progress

Sunday!

Hopefully I will have part one of the Mystery Sampler done in the next day or so, this has been such a joy to stitch and I am already looking forward to part two arriving in the mail next month :)

You may remember a couple of posts ago I offered these three pattern books to anyone who would want them as I already had one myself.

As luck would have it I have three books and three people asked for one! So Linda, Pull The Other Thread and Tiki please email me (itzycraftcorner@hotmail.co.uk) with your address and I will get them in the post to you asap.

We had some sad news on Saturday, David's Grandma passed away after weeks of going in and out of hospital, although it wasn't a huge shock it was still very sad.

I hope you all have a great week ahead!

Turkey and Goodies for me (and you!)

I'm back!

Did you all miss me? Hehe :D I had a great time on holiday but also glad to be home, as much as I love my Mum a week is my limit with her lol.

I'll quickly show some photos of the holiday then get on with the stitching/goodies updates...

View from our room

Turtle in the harbor at Fethiye

More Rock Tombs at Dalyan

While on holiday I got a tiny new start, its not much and I'm not telling you what it is yet :D hehe. But I want to get Darth Finished and another project started soon so it will be going away again for a while.

Holiday Start
Once back (2 am this morning!) I had some wool I ordered waiting for me! I have had some of this before and it was practically buy one ball get two free so how could I say no?

Each set came with a pattern book, and as I say I have ordered some before so I now have three extra books. Would anyone like one? If so state in a comment below you would and if there is more than three of you I will do a draw, I will keep it open until next Sunday morning (22nd). Just to make it clear, this is for the book, NOT the wool - that's all mine *evil laugh*

Today in the mail this arrived! The first part of the Lizzie*Kate Mystery Christmas SAL! I think I am going to start tomorrow (ssssh don't tell the other half!) and make Sunday my SAL Sunday from now on. I want to keep up with this one (famous last words!).

Sorry for the picture heavy post! Fingers crossed I will be back soon with some progress shots on the SAL and of course Darth, I hope to have him finished really soon!

#67 - Travelling Pattern - Who's Next?!

Well once I sat down yesterday to stitch I was obviously in the right mind as I started and finished this in a couple of hours! Making it my first finish of 2013 - Hooray!

As you can see from the photo I didn't follow the colours on the pattern at all - I wanted this for our "Geek Room" so I switched to Blues so it would fit in perfect. For finishing I used the fabric you can see behind and it works perfectly :)

I am happy with the final look and even better no disasters with the Sewing Machine this time!

So you all know what this means, its now time for me to pass the pattern on to the next person! The rules are simple, have an active blog and by signing up you agree to pass the pattern on to a fellow blogger in the same way :)

If you are interested please comment on this post leaving your blog address and email so I have a way to contact the lucky winner!

I will announce the winner next Monday (4th February) so gives everyone plenty of time to sign up - Good Luck!

#66 - A Busy Postman!

This week has been bizarre, I don't know where most of it went and other than the YOTA piece which I can't show you until next Saturday I have not touched any stitching! Fingers crossed that will change today once I have read through all the blog posts I need to catch up on - I have even been lazy with that this week!

Normally I have a routine, I come home from work, get changed, turn on my computer, decide what we are having for dinner, prep dinner and while that is cooking I sit down and read through the days bloggings. Even this went out of the window this week.

But, I have made progress of sorts, I decided to join the Pink Scarf Project (a link also to the left of my blog) and have since ordered two lots of yarn for two scarves, I figure I will commit to just two at the moment and see how my time goes as it is a year long project.

McKenna is also holding a monthly giveaway - these cute little Octopi! You can see a photo to the right of my blog, she is giving away one every month so I suggest you sign up, they are so adorable!

Poor Mr Postman has been ever so busy this week, and up until today our Street was still 30cm deep with snow with a thick layer of ice underneath, a lethal combination! But he made it here with more acquisitions to my stash ;) hehehe.

Along with all this I was the lucky winner of a Travelling Pattern! Once Vickie had completed the pattern it made its way to me - I am the 22nd person to stitch this and it is great to see all the amazing places it has visited so far!

Once I have finished it I will be passing it on to another lucky stitcher so keep your eyes peeled it you are interested ;)

Vickie was also so sweet to include a little gift for me, four gorgeous pins, thanks Vickie!

In other news I have decided to join Weight Watchers, last time I did I lost 35lbs so I know it works for me, I have our Summer Holiday and My Brothers wedding this year so that is plenty of motivation. But to just add a little more I have made an agreement with myself that every 7lbs I lose I can treat myself to some new stash, a chart or some fabric etc...any excuse ;) hehehe. So far I have lost 3lbs, a long way to go yet :)

I will post again tomorrow with whatever stitching progress I get done today, other than chores it is all I have planned!

Have a great Sunday everyone!
