Fun in the Sun!

Hello everyone!

How is everyone? Did you all miss me? I know its been a while (again) since I posted but to be fair I have been away on holiday for the past two weeks!

I have very little to report stitching wise, I took a small kit with me but in the entire two weeks did about 30 stitches - there was just no time, or if there was I was distracted by Wimbledon (GOOOO MURRAY!) or by the pool calling my name...

While away in Florida I of course took a trip to one of the craft stores. While going to pick up the food shopping on the day we arrived I spotted a Joann's nearby - of course I had to go look!

Well you stitchers in the states are so lucky! Everything is SO much cheaper - three skeins of floss for 99 cents?! Here is about 50 pence for one!

As tempted as I was to clear out the entire floss stock instead I picked up two kits which have been on my bucket list for a while, again, so much cheaper than if I had of bought them here!

Disney Dreams - Little Mermaid
Fall Fairy
Other than that not much else to report. Fingers crossed now the holiday is done with (*cries*) I can get back in to the swing of things with stitching. For now here is some photos from my holiday - enjoy!

#85 April YOTA Report

Well it is the first Saturday of April (can you believe it?!) so that means it is YOTA time! If you haven't heard of YOTA before then click here and all shall become clear :)

This month was a success! In case you missed it I had a finish on my first YOTA piece of the year! Hooray!

Tigger Bookmark - Done!
So, then came the decision on what to stitch next as part of the YOTA, well after much debate over two projects I decided on Thomas Kinkade - Stepping Stone Cottage.

Here is where I am the last time I stitched on this - last August! How terrible! This should also help me with one of my aims for 2013 as I want 50% done by the end of the year, not sure how likely that is but it is always good to have goals in life :)

So fingers crossed next report I will have made more progress to share with you.

Until next time!

#83 - Spring, Can You Hurry Up Please?

Well we woke up yesterday to MORE snow. Now what you must understand is I love snow, but equally I love Spring, we are coming to the end of March - its Easter next weekend! I want to see the Daffodils and see the grass turning a lush green colour and start to grow again - enough is enough Mother Nature!

Along with the snow we had some high wind, creating lots of drifts in the garden, it sort of looked like when you are icing a cake and you haven't smoothed it out properly and you get those little peaks.

I also had to share this photo, I didn't take it but this was in Queensbury, a place known for getting the snow bad around here, this is where my Grandad's party was last Sunday - glad I don't have to be there today!

Where did I leave the car???

On to stitching!

Technically I probably shouldn't be showing you this until April, but I couldn't wait! I finished my first YOTA piece! If you don't know what YOTA is click here.

As I am not the neatest stitcher in the world (shocker, I know) I decided to hide the back by backing a piece of card with this cute Disney fabric I had in my stash.

So, after so long this is now done, I am going to make my aim for the next YOTA report to decide what my next project will be, I have a couple of ideas, both of which are much larger than this so they should see me out the rest of the year.

I just checked the weather site and it is saying the snow is due to start again tonight and we are getting it until Thursday!! Roll on Easter weekend so I can stay in with my stitching, DVDs, and yummy food :)

Have a great week everyone!

#78 - Ahhhh Friday :D

Good evening! Everyone happy it is Friday? Well done, we have made it through another week! (Just about)

I'm glad to say this week has been better! I even had a small finish, but as it is a gift I am unable to show you just yet...I don't want to spoil the surprise ;) Hehe

So on to my wedding project, last time it looked like this...

Now it looks like this!

I moved on the Grooms side now and another wheel has appeared with a bit more of his trousers too! This weekend I am going to be busy, what with Mothers Day here in the UK so I think this will be as far as I get with it this week. Any spare time will be used on Mystic Garden since now the second page has arrived I need to catch up a bit!

Meggie I got your message, thank you! But I am having problems getting in contact, your blog was showing as deleted and now it is telling me "permission denied" to view it and there is no email in your profile so if you see this please email me : itzycraftcorner@hotmail.co.uk thanks!

Ahhh I have fallen for a new chart by Wee Little Stitches. They have a Disney Princess chart now! As someone who grew up with Disney films I LOVE this! Especially since they are in chronological order too! I will have to see if I can stretch to the £6 (I've already mentally bought it and planning which fabric to use!)

I hope you all have a great weekend!

#25 A little here, a little there...

I don't know what has been wrong with me this week, everytime I settled down with some stitching my mind would wonder off to some other project I wanted to work on!

So, I don't have all that much to show this week.

Stepping Stone Cottage was put away as I knew in this frame of mind I would end up making mistakes on something so complex so I stuck with a couple smaller projects.

First up was my goodies I got from the lovely Minnie a while back. Wahoo Jumper! :D

Then, when my mind got distracted thanks to the arrival of some threads I needed I started work on my next charity squares. This time its a Disney quilt so I am doing Baloo and Mowgli from Jungle Book :)

Fingers crossed next week will be a bit more productive...
