Small Sal - March 2016!

Greetings everyone!

Welcome to my Small SAL check in for the month hosted by the lovely Stitching Lotus!

In my last post I gave you a little sneaky peek at what I had stitched for this month - could you guess what it was? :)

It was Little Luck by Lizzie*Kate! Such a sweet design and stitched up surprisingly quick!

Little Luck by Lizzie*Kate
Stitched 2 over 2 on 32ct Linen
Start Date: 15th March 2016
End Date: 20th March 2016

I stitched this using the suggested DMC and it was my first time completing a project on linen, I am not a fan of linen but it came with the chart and I thought I would give it a go! It wasn't so bad, at least now I know I can at least stitch small things on linen if I need to, otherwise I will still be sticking with my old faithful Aida and Evenweave!

I'm quite pleased with myself so far this year, my finishes are already more than I had last year haha!

Thanks for stopping by, I'm sure to be back soon with my lovely birth sampler I am stitching.

Until next time!

Emma xo

  2. Your Smalls SAL piece is adorable. I had one attempt stitching on linen, lasted a couple of hours and will now never touch it again! Well done on your perseverance as it really does give a nice finish. :)

  3. I love your little stitchery. It looks lovely on the linen. I love stitching on linen, but as my eyes are getting older and tireder, I'm finding myself reaching for the 24 or 28 count evenweave fabrics rather than the 32 or 36 count linens.

  4. What a cute design! I used to stitch on linen but no longer, I much prefer evenweave and aida.

  6. Too cute! I've stitched on linen but don't like the way it looks at all. I think it's either a love or hate type of thing. Your finish looks fantastic though. Great job on doing so well this year and it's only March!!

  9. This is a great chart. I do think Linen gets easier as you go. The best thing about stitching, is it's all about YOU. Great Job

  10. Totally adorable! Linen will grow on you if you give it a chance. Of course you'll be developing expensive tastes!

  11. Love your stitchy finish. The little birds make me smile. I am glad to hear that you like stitching on aida fabric, I sometimes feel I am the only one out here still doing that. :) Looking forward to seeing your birth sampler. Happy Stitching. :)

  23. This is such a great little design. I love his pot of gold!
I don't find linen any harder than evenweave but I prefer it for samplers whereas evenweave is better for people. Who wants a slub in the middle of their face?
Evenweave is also easier for over one stitching which I adore!
