#85 April YOTA Report

Well it is the first Saturday of April (can you believe it?!) so that means it is YOTA time! If you haven't heard of YOTA before then click here and all shall become clear :)

This month was a success! In case you missed it I had a finish on my first YOTA piece of the year! Hooray!

Tigger Bookmark - Done!
So, then came the decision on what to stitch next as part of the YOTA, well after much debate over two projects I decided on Thomas Kinkade - Stepping Stone Cottage.

Here is where I am the last time I stitched on this - last August! How terrible! This should also help me with one of my aims for 2013 as I want 50% done by the end of the year, not sure how likely that is but it is always good to have goals in life :)

So fingers crossed next report I will have made more progress to share with you.

Until next time!

#20 Getting too old for this...

Oooooh my poor body, full of aches and pains this morning after last night at the festival.

I decided I may as well update now as I feeling rather...delicate today and I suspect not much stitching will get done.

Not a whole load of progress done but I did get the rest of the first column done and started on the second.

Earlier in the week some stitchy goodies arrived in the post. My new R & R lap stand which I LOVE its perfect height and size to sit on my desk in my Geek Room and makes it so much easier. I seem to be stitching faster too which can only be a good thing!

Along with that I also bought some fabric, I don't know if you remember but a while back I won some goodies from Minnie for becoming her 100th follower. I decided on something sparkly, well, you can't have Christmas without sparkle can you?! The picture doesn't show it up great sadly but I think it will be just perfect!

I am itching to get started but I will refrain and get at least the second column finished on the cottage before I start anything else.

Now I need to love and leave you and get my letters wrote for my cross stitch pen pals and then take it easy the rest of the day - I'm getting far too old for this festival lark!

Below are a few photos of Foo Fighters - my favourite of the day :)

Happy Stitching xo

#19 IHSW After...

Well another weekend flew by and as ever I didn't get quite as much stitching done as I would have like but none the less some progress was made.

I am really enjoying all these different shades of gold and brown, making me excited for Autumn and all the beautiful shades the trees turn.

Its strange how close up it doesn't look much but when you take a step back you can really see it coming together. Hoping once the next column is done the tree will really start to take shape.

After tomorrow I have no work until next Tuesday, most of the weekend is taken up by plans of a local festival which I am going to but I will at least be able to get some stitching done on Wednesday and Thursday.

Now going to look at all the other IHSW'ers posts.

Once again thank you for following and thank you so much for your comments they always make me smile :)

Until next time.

#18 IHSW Before....

Well, carried on working on Stepping Stone Cottage, about 900 stitches in now. Well, it still looks like...a grey/green/gold square. But the gold tones to the left are the start of a tree!

This weekend is IHSW (see my links bar) so fingers crossed I will get plenty more done and it will start to come together (maybe).

Have a happy IHSW!

#17 Stepping Stone Cottage Start

I must admit it feels good to get my hands on something new to stitch! But I made a promise to the other half that before I started my next project I would do some tidying of my craft stuff.

Our "Geek Room" is now complete - with the exception of a few wall decorations etc and this is the first post I am writing from it! Wooo!

So, the rest of Saturday night was spent winding threads on to bobbins while watching the Olympics (Go Mo!) Look how good I was!

So Sunday saw the start of Stepping Stone Cottage. I didn't get a whole lot done thanks to the Olympics but still managed to get about 450 stitches in before the closing ceremony (Oh how I am missing it already!).

I am also trying parking for the first time after hearing some of the other ladies on the Facebook group talking about it. So far I like it, certainly seems to speed things up.

12-08-12 Day 1

Until next time!
