Back to the Long, Dark Nights...

...which can only mean one thing, staying in and stitching away! Hehe!

I hope you all had a good weekend? Mine wasn't the most productive every but hey ho sometimes you need a lazy day :)

Last night the clocks went back - we are officially on our way to Winter! Which also means Christmas and my Birthday - Yippee! :D

Today I worked some more on the Lizzie*Kate mystery sal Holly and Hearts, not too much done but a start none the less on part two, I need to crack on with it now as part three will be here in no time and I really want to get this done for Christmas.

I will be changing the spelling of honor to honour (which to me is the correct spelling) if you are wanting to change it too they have kindly added an alteration to the Lizzie*Kate site which you can find here.

Other than that this week has been made up of more stash building.

First my new needle minder arrived from Lisa's No More Lost Needles.

Excuse the edit - just hiding personal info!
It holds the needle really well and I have already placed a request in for another minder for next month, I suggest you take a look as she has loads of different designs, and very reasonably priced too!

Next, my parcel from Colour Cascade Fabrics arrived all the way from Oz. This was part of a Facebook event and my partner very kindly sent me a voucher, which I happily spent and then some!

The fabrics are Indian Sunset and Wicked Garden, they are gorgeous! If you are reading this my secret birthday Santa thanks very much! :D

Lastly, this was from last months event for Across Town Stitching, which sadly is closing down soon, its a shame as she used to do great deals on thread. Again I was sent a voucher from my partner and I picked these two kits.

I think that is everything for stitching updates...but I have more exciting news! Yesterday me and the other half booked our flights to Rome for next year! :D I am SO excited already! So, does anyone have any recommendations of crafty shops or magazines I should pick up while I am there?

I will be back on Thursday for the Halloween Blog Hop taking place over at Serendipitous Stitching - I have a spoooooky finish to share!

Until then stay safe!

#90 Goodies, Stitching and Feeling Proud!

Good afternoon all! I hope you have all been well this past week, mine has been ok, which I will explain...

First up, stitching. This has gone ok, not nearly as much as last week but still a noticeable change. Here is the wedding sampler last time...

Before
And here it is now! As you can see the Groom now has his head and his other arm as well as the rest of his body, just need to stitch his hand and his champagne glass and he is done! Other than all the back stitching and French knots of course but those will be added later.

Another good surprise this week was the arrival of some goodies! I had taken part in an event on Facebook for Colour Cascade Fabrics, we all partnered up and sent a gift card for us to spend as we liked. Typical me I went way over the gift card amount with my shopping, but as soon as I saw the fabrics I knew it was worth it!

Rocket Queen

Oceans

Whole Lotta Love

These photos really don't do them justice, and the speed they arrived was fantastic considering they came from the other side of the world! I will definitely be shopping there again.

On Wednesday one of my best friends got a life changing phone, after months of trying she found out she has been accepted in to Brittania Royal Naval College to train to become an officer! I am so happy and proud of her, she has wanted it so long!

It is all very sudden, she finished work on Friday and leaves for Dartmouth a week tomorrow! It will take some adjusting, from seeing her at least once a week to only seeing her once every 10 weeks and I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for her partner. But we are all very supportive of her and trying to keep her calm, as she is very nervous about leaving!

With this in mind I don't see much stitching getting done this week, it could be an emotional week ahead!
