#16 Sea Babies Finish!

Hooray! Sea Babies are finally complete!

All four got stitched up and are now ready and packed to be sent off to the charity to get made up in to a quilt - have to say I love these little characters and hopefully another Sea Babies quilt will be done next year so I can do some more.

Sadly these past two week I have got hardly any stitching done with the distraction of the Olympics. I must admit I have got caught up in all the excitement, even more so since team GB have done so well!

HEAD also provided a distraction thanks to their 50% "stash enhancement" sale. In the end I ended up with another four charts added to my collect. When I will get time to stitch them all I have no idea but who can say no 50% off?!

The sale ends 12pm tonight (USA time, which coast I am not sure though) so go head over quick to make the most of it! (Click Here)

Until next time

#15 Goodies and Mr Pinchy!

Well this post is a happy happy post!

Arrived home from a rubbish day of work to find my mystery goodies waiting for me from Minnie at All XX's for becoming her 100th member - look at it all!

Inside was;

  • Notebook
  • Pin Badge
  • Thread Organiser
  • Threads
  • Snowflake beads
  • Chart
  • and a lovely card from her thanking me!
No, no Minnie, thank you!

Look at the beautiful colours in the hand dyed floss - I love it! The snowflake beads are just gorgeous, I want more!

Once I have stitched Mr Polar Bear with the goodies I'm thinking of turning it in to a Christmas ornie so every year I will see it and remember the lovely gift.

In other news Mr Pinchy is now complete! Well, apart from the backstitch. Yay!

So that will be my aim the next couple of evenings, get him and his three friends back stitched and sent off.

Happy Stitching! xo

#14 My First RAK!

Well, as predicted very little stitching got done this weekend. The In-laws were down visiting from Scotland so spent most of the weekend out and about with them.

But on Friday I had a lovely surprise - sat on the bus on my way to work checking my emails only to find a new HAED chart sat waiting for me from a lady who I have never even spoken to before. This is the lovely thing about the RAK (random act of kindness, in case you are wondering) program, you sign up not really expecting anything and then you are totally taken by surprise!

Tamara, the lovely lady, purchased me the chart Dragonflies Whisper, which was on my Wish List on the site. I just love the colours, I want to buy the materials NOW but I must control myself.

So in the past week I have gone from zero charts to four. Oops.

Here is a picture of the very little stitching I did get done. Mr Pinchy will get done this week, he will he will he will...

Hope your stitching has been more successful than mine!

#12 IHSW after...

Well Sunday night is drawing to a close and with that another IHSW is over.

You may remember I was working on "Mr Pinchy" as I had named him and here he is now!

Mr Pinchy - What big claws you have!
A fair amount of progress I guess, considering I did no stitching at all on Saturday (bad, bad Emma!).

One or two more nights and it should be complete then I have to get all four back stitched and sent off.

Look forward to reading how everyone else got on this weekend!

Happy Stitching

#11 IHSW before...

Three posts in less than a week?! I really am spoiling you all...

Firstly though I want to say hello and welcome to my new followers - now in to double figures! *Happy Dance*

Decided to upload a before shot of my current stitch before IHSW begins (because I actually remembered to take one)

Mr Pinchy!
The crab (or Mr Pinchy as I have named him) is coming along nicely and fingers crossed plenty will get done this weekend.

You may have also noticed a new Wips section has appeared down the side of my blog. Yes, I have bit the bullet and order threads for my first ever HEAD. Also the Thomas Kinkade chart was a gift from the in laws at Christmas. At the time I was slightly overwhelmed by it but I am feeling brave and going to do some sort of rotation between the two once my charity squares are complete.

Yesterday I also found out a friend is 13 weeks pregnant - that means another reason to buy more stash and get stitching!! (Like I ever really need a reason...)

Have a happy IHSW!

#9 Sea Babies

I know, I know...I went AWOL for a few weeks - sorry!

I wish I could say it was because I was so wrapped up in cross stitching I didn't want to stop, but alas, no.

Instead I have been spending a small fortune on boring things. Firstly, our dryer broke, which under normal circumstances wouldn't be an issue mid summer but with the weather we have been having I have missed having one dearly.

THEN my dishwasher leaked and flooded the kitchen. Despite our best efforts in the end the carpet had to be ripped up. So a few hundred pounds later I have a new dryer and dishwasher and a bare floor in the kitchen area :( When we will get round to decorating I have no idea, so it has been somewhat of a nightmare here the last week or so.

On to stitching!

My progress has been rather slow on the whale, no idea why, I guess I just lost my bug for a little while. But today I'm glad to say all the cross stitch is finished! Hooray!

Next up will be the fourth and final square I am doing for this quilt and will be a little crab - hopefully this one will progress quicker than the last.

Also, I finally gave the wedding sampler to the happy couple, we went for a night of cocktails. It was lovely to see them again talking about our school days and talking about house plans for them and planning a trip to Florida in 2021 - apparently the 50th anniversary of the park opening or something so it has to be done - I think even for me nine years is enough time to plan and save!

I have next week off work. YAY! Sadly, I suspect not so much stitching will get done. I am decorating one of our spare bedrooms and turning it in to a computer/craft room. Or as me and the other half call it our Geek Room.

If I'm not wrong then is should be IHSW this weekend so fingers crossed the next update will be soon!

Happy Stitching! xo

#6 Sea Babies Progress

Well a 3 day week at work meant I got plenty of stitching time this week, despite the other halves birthday on Thursday and a lovely meal out in the evening.

Completed all the cross stitch on the first square and well on the way with the second. I love the bright colours of this pattern and will probably also soon get the Jungle Babies pattern book made by the same people (Stoney Creek).

Happy Stitching!
