Good morning!
I don't know about you but this first full week back at work since Christmas felt like it lasted forever, sure glad it is the weekend!
Today is the day for my first check ins of the year for some of the SALs I am participating in. It just so happens the first YOTA and Turtle Trot of the year are on the same day, but that's ok as one of my projects counts for both :)
Even though we are only ten days in to the year I am pleased to say I have managed to get some stitching time in on two of my ten Turtle Trot pieces. If you missed my post about the projects I picked I have a page dedicated to at the top of my blog or you can click here.
First up in Tribal Orca by White Willow Stitching.
This was a new start for the year so there is no before photo, but this is where I have got to so far.
I'm really enjoying coming home after a busy day at work and working on this, it's nice not to have lots of colour changes and each little shape feels like a nice little achievement. Again, the photo does not do the fabric justice but it's not too far off the right colours.
Next is Twilight Magic. This is also my YOTA piece for the year. Here is how is looked at the start of the year.
Here it is now, can you tell a difference? If you look to the left you can see I have added more purple and joined that blob of pink to the edge. Not a huge amount but not bad for two hours work while been distracted from my new Big Bang DVD :)
Right, I am off to do some more stitching. With the crazy windy weather here in Scotland I have no intention of leaving the house this weekend unless I have to!

A portfolio of my crafts, after 15 years doing very little I have started again and here is an on-line collection of my work. Enjoy.

Happy New Year!
Here we are in 2015! Let's hope this will be a good one!
As you may or may not know December 31st was my Birthday :)
During the day I was working, but thankfully we got to go home early due to the new year celebrations so it wasn't so bad.
Once I got home I opened all my cards and presents and was treated to some wonderful gifts! I got two Pandora charms for my bracelet, a crystal nail file (I have wanted one for ages!), Season 7 of Big Bang on DVD, CD, A beautiful Rosie's pantry tea set, some money - loads of stuff in fact!
On top of this three of my friends from Yorkshire made there way up to Scotland and stayed with us for a couple of nights, as did one of our friends who lives close by. David cooked us dinner, home made Chilli (yum) and to finish off Banoffee Cheesecake (yum yum!).
After that we sat around playing some board games and before we knew it is was almost time to see in the new year! We all had a great night, and it was a perfect way to spend my birthday :)
The next day we visited Edinburgh, and today we took a trip in to Glasgow before they headed home. I am already looking forward to their next visit :)
As you can imagine with all this going on I have had very little time to stitch, but I did manage to squeeze a few stitches in to Tribal Orca...
Not much to see yet but it's a good start to the new year :) Sadly this photo doesn't show the fabric so well, it is much bluer than it looks here. I will try to get a better picture next time.
